Riffyn seeks a Product Owner to imagine and grow the capabilities Riffyn’s award-winning cloud software for scientific R&D. As a Product Owner your responsibilities will include gathering requirements and defining new features, problem-solving user experience and scientific data analysis challenges, leading cross-functional teams, and defining product releases and sprints. To be successful in this role you should be able to identify user needs, deeply understand the scientific process and laboratory environment, and fluidly coordinate cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders to deliver an inspiring product.
Riffyn is a venture-backed provider of research design and analytics software (SaaS) to biotech, pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries. Riffyn SaaS offers a unique “design-first” approach to scientific experimentation and product development that solves previously intractable data fragmentation issues. Riffyn provides global R&D organizations with unprecedented access to high-quality data, process design information and integrative data analytics.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to produce solutions that exceed our users' expectations.
Create, validate, and document deliverables for new features, through requirements elicitation, user stories, functional specifications, visual design, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
Work as part of an agile team of scientists, engineers, product designers, quality engineers, and business leadership to set sprint goals, and plan releases and upgrades, ensure teams understand the requirements and scope for each feature and monitor/report progress.
Ensure completed stories meet acceptance criteria and, where necessary, coordinate and contribute to user acceptance testing.
Prioritize and collaborate in the resolution of issues and defects, and associated resource prioritization.
Effectively communicate technical and non-technical details and progress with team members, internal and external stakeholders, and all levels of management.
Support the product strategy by maintaining a backlog of features for development by the engineering team, and assisting in the development and prioritization of the product roadmap.
Your Background and Skills
Bachelors (or higher) degree in a scientific discipline, bioinformatics, bio or chemical engineering or similar field.
Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner/Manager or in a related position.
Successful track record of developing computing and/or software solutions for scientific disciplines with responsibilities for full product life cycle.
Experienced with data science as applied to scientific problems, quality engineering, data analytics tools, and methodologies in science.
Ability to break down complex problems and design elegant solutions with a focus on usability and data-driven decision-making.
Deadline oriented and capable of self-management and multitasking in a fast paced environment.
Exceptional team player and communicator with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Ability to identify industry, business, and technology trends and best practices.
Comfortable navigating uncertainty and defining, prioritizing, and aligning stakeholders on solutions.
