In February 2020, COVID-19 diagnostic test capacity was limited for the entire United Kingdom due to supply chain shortages. Working together with the Riffyn Scientific Solutions team, Imperial College London scientists rolled out a reagent- and instrument-agnostic COVID assay in just 9 weeks by:
Randomizing plate transfer and tracking sample source to destination assignments
Structuring and connecting complex data across all experiments in a single data table for analysis
Eliminating errors from spreadsheet-based data tracking
This effort resulted in several validated protocols currently used by the U.K. National Health Service (NHS) to test 1,000 samples per day.
