The role

Our team is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a Security mindset, willing to be a hands-on player-mentor, and has strong development and communication skills.

You will have the opportunity to develop security infrastructures for our cloud-based production environments, automate our infrastructural requirements, performance tune phases of software development, and analyze our current deployment technology utilized within the company and help develop steps and processes to improve our security throughout our development stack.


  • Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing.
  • Identify, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation.
  • Assess, manage, and deliver improvements to our CI/CD pipeline.
  • Provide security guidance and policies on maintaining a proactive security posture
  • Participate in new project reviews and architecture security reviews
  • Identifies risks & issues and takes ownership to deliver appropriate resolutions.
  • Participate in discussions, analysis, design, and testing; solve complex technical problems; provide alternative methods for achieving goals when necessary.
  • Monitor technology trends and evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations on adoption and implementation.
  • Assist with security remediation for found vulnerabilities within SLAs
  • Assist with regular security responsibilities such as quarterly access reviews, vulnerability scanning, and security testing.
  • Build custom software and integrate with third-party tools to improve our security posture in a broad range of areas including endpoint detection & response (EDR), data loss prevention (DLP), identity & access management (IAM, IDP, PAM, MFA), and log collection for our security information and event management (SIEM) platform and (CNF) Cloud Native Foundation.
  • Adhere to and support Riffyn’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies and procedures including participation in the Operations Team’s 24x7 on-call rotation.

Your background and skills

  • 8+ years of experience working on a DevOps, Automation, Build, Infrastructure Engineering team with a focus on cloud technologies, preferably in a regulated, SaaS environment.
  • Container orchestration using Kubernetes is a must.
  • Proficient in Linux, Shell, and Bash scripting.
  • Experience with Security and Encryption in all areas of the cloud and VPC, at rest and in transit.
  • Experience provisioning and configuring repeatable, highly available infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.
  • Familiarity with microservice architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and CNF
  • Understanding of secure cloud networking such as VPC peering, flow logs, ACLs, and Guard Duty logs.
  • Experience leading technical projects with a team of engineers.
  • Outstanding & proactive oral and written communication skills - with colleagues, mentees, and customers.
  • Bachelors or Masters in CS, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, or related field.

Desired additional experience:

  • Experience with build automation, security and performance monitoring tools
  • Cloud infrastructure monitoring systems including Prometheus, Alertmanager, and Grafana
  • Kubernetes administration (bonus points for CKA certification!)
  • Helm chart authoring and/or significant customization
  • AWS services including EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, KMS
  • AWS VPC management with Terraform
  • Jenkins administration and/or pipeline development
  • Experience with Docker, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and RabbitMQ are a big plus
  • Experience in applying CIS benchmarks
