The role

The Sr. Account Executive will be responsible for direct sales into the world’s largest and most exciting biotech and biopharma companies. You will excel in detail-driven environments and have a deep understanding of partnering customers, leading them to solutions-driven outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Actively prospect and build new business opportunities in line with corporate goals
  • Develop new business with existing clients and identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
  • Drive sales opportunities and take point on all customer interactions
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders, and executive sponsors
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
  • Communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
  • Develop account business plans and prepare reports on account status
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and grow opportunities within the territory
  • Lead Executive Business Reviews (EBR) with executive sponsors.
  • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed

Your background and skills

  • 7 plus years experience as an Account Executive or relevant role in a Life Science environment, ideally focused on R&D disciplines or similar
  • Knowledge of the Life Science IT ecosystem (LIMS, ELN, SDMS, MES, LES, ERP, etc.)
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present, and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
  • Ability to negotiate the contracts and “Close the Deal”
  • Substantial experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho CRM, HubSpot Freshsales) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel 30% of the year
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales or Life Sciences
