The role

As the Head of Quality, you will be responsible for maturing Riffyn’s internal Quality and Compliance processes and external GxP offerings for customers. You will work cross-functionally to establish, maintain, and continuously improve a culture of Quality across the Riffyn organization. You will bring an agile, risk-based Quality mindset and a track record of leading successful and accountable Quality operations. You will build trusted relationships with colleagues, customers, and partners to ensure transparent, efficient, and effective communications – especially with respect to validation of Riffyn’s products in customer environments.

Responsibilities

  • Create company-wide awareness of how Quality impacts every aspect of our success, with a lens of continuous improvement
  • Establish a mature QMS by working cross-functionality to define and document processes and supporting artifacts, and train the Riffyn organization
  • Lead evolution of Quality systems and processes, including IT systems, to ensure the company is operating efficiently and responsibly throughout product development processes, software releases, supplier management, and support in adherence with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., ISO27001, ISO9001, GDPR, CMMC, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, etc.)
  • Own external Quality and compliance responses for audits, certifications, RFP’s, and other external requests
  • Collaborate with Science, Product, and Engineering teams to define and standardize validation support offerings (processes, deliverables, services, etc.) to improve Quality and accelerate end-user validation for customers operating in regulated environments
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, risks, and dependencies to plan, communicate and realize successful long-term quality outcomes for customers, Riffyn, and partners
  • Ensure timely and effective communication and escalation of quality issues to appropriate levels of management, identifying critical issues, next steps, and resolution plans
  • Mentor and coach to team members within and outside of Riffyn Quality function

Your background and skills

  • 6+ years’ experience in a quality or regulatory assurance related field, supporting cloud-based SaaS product(s) in GxP environments from implementation through support and upgrade
  • 2+ years in a fast-growing small company environment or start-up
  • A track record of establishing and maintaining quality systems, practices, and policies in accordance with ISO9001
  • Demonstrated experience in oversight/management of software products from a Quality perspective through the lifecycle of product development, and to meet standards and regulations including GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, etc.
  • Knowledge of biopharma R&D and/or manufacturing business processes and technologies
  • Demonstrated influential leadership expertise as a technology vendor with senior-level GxP customer interactions and negotiations, including the ability to understand and address Quality and regulatory considerations and generate informed, consistent, and efficient approaches to meet the needs of customers and Riffyn
  • Ability and desire to plan, lead, and execute work, demonstrated through a hands-on leadership approach
  • Experience managing and developing a Quality team, including leading the adoption/support of new standards and regulations
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills, detail orientation, and proactive problem-solving approach
  • Demonstrated innovation, flexibility, open-mindedness, and adaptability to meet objectives in a rapidly changing environment with shifting priorities
